DESCRIPTION:Join Shark Stewards Southern California team at Junipero Beach. We set our table up on the edge of the bike path near the Saltwater Deck. \nVolunteers join us sharing shark information or cleaning up the beach and collecting data. \nFREE parking with code upon check-in. This is a very busy beach with lots of fitness activities\, runners\, walkers\, cyclists\, and beach goers who want to enjoy our beautiful California weather. \nWe clean up and collect data on the plastic that ends up in the parking lot and on the beach. SUMMARY:Earth Day Cleanup and Monitoring Aquatic Park
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Earth Day cleanup and water monitoring survey event at Aquatic Park\, Berkeley CA \nWith support from Ava Energy and the Mary Crocker Trust. \n \nCelebrate our own hound shark and bat ray nursery site and help us monitor\, and protect\, this beautiful marine park. \nJoin our Aquatic Park Stewards team testing water quality\, cleaning up marine debris and helping maintain the lagoon and park. \nOn Earth Day we are partnering with BASK kayakers\, Berkeley Paddling and Rowing Club\,  BORP and Waterside Works to cleanup on the water!  Staging on Bolivar near the Kenneth Hayes Boat House. Please park on the road and not in the BPRC lot. \nSigned WAIVER Required. \nLaunch sites on the north side at the Berkeley Paddling and Rowing Club and at the Berkeley Waterski Ramp. \n(For liability only club members or those signed up with BWPC\, BORP or Waterside Works will be allowed to access the water.) \nPut ins available at the BPRC dock (parking along bolivar). \nRSVP link here: https://forms.gle/7r5UmPZGNgz4aYwC9 \nMAP \n2851 Bolivar Drive\, Berkeley CA \nPublic transportation and carpooling encouraged!\nNote- entrance to south end of park from Downtown Berkeley is off 67th and Shellmound Street- NOT Ashby Avenue. \n  \nWhat to bring: we will have some equipment to share but if you have a bucket\, picker and gloves\, bring them please. \nWHAT TO BRING\nLayered clothing\nsunscreen and hat\nsunglasses\nreusable water or drink container\nlunch or snacks if desired- no single use plastic please!\nsandals\, sneakers of beach shoes.\nCleanup supplies if you have them\nGather reusable cleanup supplies from home\, like a bucket and gardening gloves. Cleanup supplies\, as well as liability waivers\, will be available at each cleanup site if needed.\nShow up at our cleanup site at the designated time and day.
